Our home, our Earth is on fire

The project is carried out as part of the Czech-Polish inter-university cooperation of prof. Karela Miska (UJEP in Usti nad Labem) and prof. Mariusz Wideryński (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw).

The presented works are is the first stage of the implementation of the project: Our home, our Earth is on fire • Nasz dom, nasza Ziemia płonie • Náš domov, naše Země hoří, realized by students: Prof. Karela Miszka from the Department of Visual Communication at the University of Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic, students of the Media Art Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Prof. Mariusz Wideryński from The Studio of Applied Photography, and invited students Prof. Prot Jarnuszkiewicz from the Visual Relations Studio. The topic refers to the very current problems facing mankind: dynamic climate change, the overpopulation of the earth and unbridled consumerism, and the global pandemic of infectious diseases. The works could be carried out individually or as a team, because the topic is so broad and universal that it is possible to interpret it in many different ways, indicating personal thoughts. The applied means should strengthen the power of the message and expressiveness of the statement. Thus, all actions were possible, as long as their use was justified in building the author’s statement. Exchange of intercultural experiences, cooperation between universities, as well as the possibility of the joint work of students under the supervision of outstanding academic teachers are just some of the benefits that are the result of this joint project and our cooperation. We present the most interesting projects virtually, although if the epidemiological situation allows, we will show them in stationary galleries.

Students from Visual Relations Studio who took part in the exhibition – Łukasz Horbów, Marcelina Gorczyńska and Jakub Oleś.
